Project Manager & UX Designer

Business need

Redesign the company’s website in a three month time-line to incorporate recently acquired capabilities.

Engagement & research

Took role of project manager

From analysis of web traffic generated two primary persona:

  1. “Frank Client” seeking information about Flywire for evaluating its suitability as an international payments provider.
  2. “Sally Payer” aiming to make a payment to a client.

To meet the deadline, I allocated responsibilities:

  1. Defining information architecture and page design
  2. Defining, sourcing and translating copy
  3. Defining and sourcing imagery
  4. Developing presentation logic

Validation processes

The design were reviewed and agreed on by the all members of the team

All designs were agreed to by associated compliance, marketing and legal team

Tools & artefacts

Trello -  Kanban board

Powerpoint - Project status deck for external stakeholders

Slack - Team communication

Signoff

The website went live within the allotted time frame and web traffic analysis showed no significant impact on "Sally Payer" persona.

Lessons learnt

As part of this project we looked at modifying the color of the Flywire logo. This resulted in quite an interesting piece of discovery work by one of the designers looking at the use of the color blue in software branding.

The company brought us together from across the world for the first week of this project. Having us all together for the first week really helped us align on a plan and agree on ways of working.
